Tips for Better Recaps

Write Soon After Playing

Memory fades fast. Jot down notes within a day of your session while the details are fresh. Even bullet points help.

Focus on Player Moments

The best recaps highlight what players did, not just what the GM planned. Capture those unexpected choices and funny moments.

Include Unresolved Threads

Listing open questions or cliffhangers helps everyone remember what to follow up on next time.

Keep It Concise

A recap should be quick to read. Aim for the highlights, not a word-for-word transcript. Three to five key events is usually enough.

Common Questions

Can I save multiple session recaps?

Yes. Use the history panel to store and load previous recaps during your browser session. Export them before closing the tab.

Does this work offline?

Once loaded, the planner works without an internet connection. Your notes stay in the browser.

Can I share my recap with players?

Use the copy or share link button to send a formatted recap. Players can read it without any account.

What happens to my data?

Everything stays in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server. If you clear your browser data, your saved recaps will be removed.

Is there a limit to how much I can write?

The browser can handle a lot of text, but for very long sessions, consider breaking the recap into sections or using the key events list.
